Jaguar Mk10 and 420G (1961-1970)
The Jaguar Mark 10 appeared in 1961 as a luxury saloon mainly designed for the US market. When it appeared, the Mk X had the largest unitary body construction that had ever been manufactured up to that time. Due to the powerful engine with a displacement of 3.8 litres and the elaborately designed rear axle, the car, 1966 renamed 420G, offered excellent driving performance and a lot of prestige at the price of half a Rolls Royce. The car was produced until 1970. The Daimler DS420 followed in its footsteps. It used the technical components in an own body construction.
