Aston Martin DB7 (1994-2004)

When Ford took over Aston Martin and later Jaguar, the two English brands were in desperate need of new models. From a design that Jaguar had not managed to complete for almost 20 years, designer Ian Callum was to create a worthy Aston Martin. The Aston Martin DB7, the model's nomenclature again explicitly referring to former owner David Brown, is based on the Jaguar XJS floorpan and uses the AJ6 engine that Jaguar developed in the early 1990s. The DB7 first appeared as a coupé, then as a convertible, called a Volante at Aston Martin. In early 1999, a new engine was launched with the major facelift. The V12 Vantage model had a twelve-cylinder engine with almost six litres of displacement. Already in the first four years, more than 2000 units of the DB7 were produced and sold. The DB7 was thus more successful than the previous bestseller DB6, of which 1850 examples were built from 1965 to 70. In total, over 7000 vehicles were assembled till 2004.
