V8 Timing Chain Kit for Jaguar and Land Rover AJ33(S), AJ34 (S) and AJ41 engines.
Earlier AJ26 and AJ27, 4.0 V8 Jaguar engines originally used timing system components from a European-based supplier. Due to technical issues arising from this previous supplier, we were asked to re-design and take over supply. Engines up to 0108122359, included a 9.525 mm pitch simplex roller chain to drive the timing system.
Later models, from engine number 0108130000 onwards (including AJ33 and AJ34, 4.2L plus AJ41, 4.4L Land Rover), utilise silent two chains for primary drive of the timing system, which have the appearance of being multiplex (inverted tooth). This was the engine number start point that we began supply.
Our kit has been developed to offer an OEM level system to the service market and beyond. It includes some of the same parts as the kit for the earlier models, with the exception of the primary chains and guides, marked *.
Contents:
• 2 x Timing (primary) chain, inverted tooth type *
• 2 x cam chain, Roller type (secondary drive = cam-cam)
• 2 x forged steel levers (similar to erlier version, but not identical) *
• 2 x aluminium die-cast guides;
• 2 x cast-iron primary timing chain tensioners
• 2 x aluminium die-cast secondary chain tensioners.
