Jaguar's S-Type was presented at the 1963 London Motor Show. Although the front of the car is closely related to the MK II, the car itself is totally different. The completely redesigned rear took over the independent suspension as previously developed for the E-Type. Thus extended and optically aligned on the luxury saloon Mark X, the S-Type was a very dynamic car to drive. Engine sizes 3.4 and 3.8 liters were available. The 4.2 ltr was reserved for its successor, the 420.
