Clamping mirrors for classic cars

Until the 1960s, exterior mirrors were often special equipment and correspondingly rare. When only one, and later two, rear-view mirrors became standard, many vehicles were equipped with clamping mirrors. The advantages are obvious: no drilling, large adjustment range and they fit almost all vehicles with window frames. We recommend clamping mirrors for classic cars whenever the vehicle was delivered from the factory without mirrors and a standard mirror represents a break with style.

Clamping mirror for the Jaguar E-Type

As a sports car, the Jaguar E-Type is characterised by its curved lines. It was therefore a particular challenge to find an exterior mirror for this classic that matched its aerodynamic elegance. It was also very important that the mirror could be mounted without drilling. And we at SC Parts are extremely satisfied with the result!

Our E-Type clamping mirror fits perfectly into the design of the Jaguar. So you can upgrade your classic with pleasure, without having to make any optical compromises. The beautifully chrome-plated mirror is suitable for both the left and right side of the vehicle. In addition, it can be…

  • with flat glass
  • or with convex curved glass.
  • Mirror head dimensions: 125 x 85 mm, projection: 175 mm, max. clamp thickness 8.7 mm.

Of course, mounting the mirror is also very easy. It is simply attached to the window frame and can be removed just as easily without leaving any traces.

Bullet-design clamping mirrors

Since this mirror shape is so popular, we naturally also have them in our range as clamping mirrors for classic cars. You have the choice between…

  • a chrome-plated clamping mirror with 90 mm diameter and flat glass
  • or a chrome-plated clamping mirror with 90 mm diameter and convex glas

Clamping mirror with round, oval or square head

Like our exterior mirrors, we also offer the most common mirror shapes in our clamping mirror range. Depending on which shape you like best, you can retrofit just about any classic car with a matching clamping mirror.

Whether round, chrome-plated and with flat glass or in an angular design with convex glass - you can enjoy safe driving and all that without having to maltreat your enthusiast's vehicle with drill holes.

The clamping thickness of our mirrors varies between 4 mm and 8.7 mm. So be sure to note how wide your window frame or rebate strip is!

FAQ

How is a clamping mirror mounted?

The clamping mirror is clamped into the door rebate of the front window frame. In other words, it is put on and fixed with mostly hexagon socket screws. Drilling into the frame and mounting a base plate is not necessary.

Does a clamping mirror leave traces on the vehicle after it has been removed?

If you mount the clamping mirror cleanly and with an underlay (usually one is included, alternatively a piece of bicycle inner tube will do), it can be removed without leaving any traces even after years.
