Brake line tubing and plumbing

Ladies and gentlemen, valued customers,

the topics for our newsletters are not created in editorial rounds, but result from moonlightning after work. Yesterday, one of the colleagues just wanted to change a rear wheel brake cylinder of his MGB. Quarter of an hour, so he thought. Unfortunately, he first turned the hexagon of the connection nipple into a round and then ripped off the brake pipe.

After we all made our jokes on these misfortunes, we sat down and put together a few tools that would have allowed to hold the 15 minutes.

Best regards from the SC Parts sales team

Note: Working on brake hydraulics is no rocket science, but it requires solid expertise. If you are not sure that the necessary work can be carried out without faults, please take the car to a specialist garage.

Tube straightener

Handheld tube straightener tool with 3/16" diameter. Essential tool for straightening coiled brake pipes and also for most types of tubing including soft metal, copper and stainless steel. Brake lines are usually mounted with straight runs but they are supplied in a coil for more efficient shipping. Long straight runs would be awkward to ship. But of course we have found the solution: a smart device which makes curved or bent brake pipes straight.

Suitable for metric (4.75 mm) and imperial (3/16,1/4,5/16,3/8") pipings. With this device, convex & double flanges can be manufactured according to DIN & SAE. The various flanging elements are mounted on a rotatable head. Simple operation is guaranteed by lever, chuck and mandrel head with automatic return. Coated pipes are not damaged, the breaking of the tubes is prevented by a linear flaring movement. This ensures fast and very precise results.
